Below is a wide range of examples for a front cover that we created in today's class using Adobe Photoshop. We like the top one the best as it looks the most authentic and realistic. We used different game cover templates for different platforms, our game is available on both Xbox One and PS4. We looked at a wide range of video game covers on google, we are most impressed by the MGS cover as it has the main protagonist in a close up shot staring at the viewer. We want to have the same approach with Michael (The Knight), also because it shows continuity through all our media products as he is the most significant character. The template shows codes and conventions used in today's video game covers. We need to make sure we include an age rating, game developer name/logo, title of game, which platform its on. We will include a game rating from a game reviewer like IGN to show the audience how good our game is. We took many shots of Michael and the one we have chosen is the best produced, we added some affects in Adobe Photoshop like the drop effect and color saturation. We will include game play footage on the back of the case to give the viewer on the interface and graphics of the game as this can persuade them enough to buy the game. A slogan will be included on the back as well asking them a question so it makes them think and be intrigued on what the story of the game is.
