55. Evaluation Question 4 – How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? - 1st draft

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

We used Adobe Premier to create both of our adverts. I found it easy to use as cutting up clips was very simple. However, most of the time when the software was opened, there is no sound until you edit the audio preferences; This led to lost time which could have been used on improving our work. The software also has very small icons. These prohibited me specifically because I could not see them clearly. A huge positive of the software was the range of customisation available. We could re-size our images which helped when utilizing the green screen. We also used Photoshop when creating the magazine advert and video game cover. It was easy to use and had a variety of effects we could apply to the pictures we had taken. It does also have small icons but we got around the issue. When researching and analysing some products, our main source of information was Wikipedia. It was a good source of information on the game history and when analysing specific game trailers, we looked at the genres of the games. During the evaluation process, I used Prezi as it is very similar to PowerPoint. It is very easy to use and my experience with PowerPoint helped me navigate it. I also used a Dictaphone in previous work for example the audience feedback. I am used to using them by now so there was no issue with it.

This is our final design for our video game magazine. We are extremely happy with how it turned out. It matches well with the game cover and adverts. Also It includes all the needed conventions that can be found in actual adverts so it makes ours look real. The magazine flows well with the theme and game.

49. Ancillary Task 1 Final draft

This is our final video game cover, our previous work received positive feedback from our target audience and we are happy with this final design.  We introduced some new colours which are orange and red as we thought they brightened up our design. The same house style on this and our magazine will show continuity, this results in it being easily recognisable.

47. Main & Ancillary Task Audience Feedback

This is some audience feedback we received this week, the video game cover and main task had many positive comments on how creative and promising it looked but our audience still felt it lacked brand identity. We will use these comments as motivation and help to make our media products look even better.

46. Ancillary Task 2 draft 2

This is our second draft for our magazine advert, as you can see not much has changed except for the removal of the price, barcode and issue number. As we feel there wasn't much to change from the first draft. We also added a review and the consoles this game is available to play as extra information to persuade the viewer to buy the game.

45. Ancillary Task 1 draft 2

This is our second draft which we are relatively happy with. It is a huge improvement from our first draft as it links better with our magazine advert and it looks a lot more professional. The effects on the fonts really make the text stand out which is good because it attracts more people. We will be receiving feedback shortly to find out what our target audience think.
